I seriously don't know how they do it, but the EWF in Marion, Indiana always gets the best guest stars. I mean, this Friday Eugene from the WWE is going to be there. He's going to be tagging with Osyris(who knew?) against Bic Ric Cannon and General Lee. And next Saturday, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper is going to be there to host his 'Piper's Pit'. And, on December 1st(day of IPW), 2 Cold Scorpio is going to be at the EWF. I just want to know how they get all the best wrestlers, past and present. IPW needs to do this if they want to be the best in the wrestling business in Indianapolis, Indiana, and the Midwest.

Bringing in names does NOT make you the best wrestling promotion anywhere. It's the home-talent that bust their ass every week, month, every other month that make a promotion. All a name does is bring in new people, and if your promotion is good enough you can keep those new people coming without bringing in a former WWE/F wrestler.
Also, having actual heat and air in your venue is a good way to becoming the best in the wrestling business (on top of the talent thing.)

I think IPW already has a great roster of stars, that they don't really need to bring in a Roddy Piper name to get people to come in, and plus it can be expensive to book someone like Roddy Piper, and the chances of Piper actually wrestling is slim to none, and if he did, he'd probably want a whole lot more money to do so, and why would IPW want to spend money on someone like Piper who probably won't wrestle, when they can just spend the money on booking someone like Chris Hero, who is a pretty known name, that will give it 100% in the ring, and wrestle.
I'm not saying that it's a bad thing to book a former WWE star or a big name like Piper, but sometimes it's not really worth it. Also, you book Piper once, people might not keep coming for your next months show. I think IPW has a great roster, that keeps people wanting to come back every month, without having guys booked like Piper every month. Just my opinion though.

yea, Piper's just coming to the EWF next Saturday just to do his talk show thingy. i'm not sure yet if he's wrestling there. i just think IPW should just try to book a wrestler like Eugene or Piper, etc.

I "AM" saying it's a bad thing to bring in old people like that. It' s crap. Who needs trash like Piper and Eugene when IPW brings in Chris freaking Hero and Mike Freaking Quackenbush and Josh fraking Abercrombie. IPW is an independant fans dream. It's my dream. I love IPW's stars and couldnt thank them enough. I would rather see the guest stars of IPW over old, crusty, WWE people ANY DAY. If you want Roddy Pipe-smoker or Eu-suck nuts-gene then get in your car and drive to EWF. IPW is great. There is no need for WWE flush jobs in any indy company. Bring in new stars. Bring in ROH guys. Bring in WSX stars. Bring in Arik Cannon and Jimmy Jacobs and BJ Whitmer and more people to that effect. Forget about all that WWE trash.

that's what i'm saying Punk. i didn't really mean that we need WWE stars that sucked so bad that they got released(Chris Masters for example). i'm just wondering how they got all those people. and you're right, we do need to bring in Jimmy Jacobs. i heard Jimmy is one of Osyris' good friends, and they fought once at the EWF. even i were to go up to Marion tomorrow, i'd just go there just to see Joey Owens, Jedd, and Osyris; i don't really care for Euegene that much.

ok, i have nothing to say about Eugene from last night. He was, in fact, really entertaining to the EWF fans(that includes myself). I also got a chance to see Joey Owens, Hillibilly Jedd, and Osyris. i also saw Louis Linaris, but i don't really care much about him. It was still a great show, i thought Osyris and Eugene worked great together as a tag team. I'm glad that DaJuggernaut was the one in the EWF locker room to get this special oppurtunity

I don't really think it's a special oppertunity. In my opinion Big O is 100x better than Eugene.

yes, i know Big O is way better than Eugene. i'm just saying Osyris is the one in the EWF locker room that got this once in a lifetime oppurtunity. and yes, they worked great as a tag team last night.

Very true.
Piper is an extremely recognizable name, and would be a benefit in a large market like Indianapolis, however, for the type of show IPW how he was used would have to be crafted pretty smoothly.

see, at least somebody agrees with me around here. oh, Piper is not 90+ years old, he's only 53.

I totally agree, Nick Dinsmore is great wrestler, he really is. Just because WWE stuck him with a stupid gimmmick, and gave him the name Eugene, doesn't mean he sucks. I don't think IPW really needs book Nick Dinsmore, but if they did book him, he could easily have some great matches. The only thing that bothers me with Nick Dinsmore that he's still living off his WWE Gimmick, which is understandable because he probably can get more bookings of the character he used in the WWE.

yea, if Nick were to get booked to a show, he would have some great matches. doink, i agree with u on the gimmick thing. i was there at the EWF last night, and all the fans loved him. maybe it was b/c he was in a tag team with his partner being Osyris. hell, Eugene is booked on the 17th, so he's probably still popular these days.

I don't think it would be a bad idea at all for IPW to book an old WWF/E name sometime. It would give the casual fan a name they recognize and a reason to come to the shows. Then, when they see guys like the Naptown Dragons, The COC, Irish Airborne, etc., hopefully they'll keep coming back. I've helped pass out IPW flyers numerous times outside of Conseco Fieldhouse after a RAW or Smackdown taping, and it's amazing how many people either refuse to take flyers because they only want to watch WWE, or they laugh when they look at it because they think it's something like backyard wrestling. If you hand them a flyer with a recognizable name, say like Piper, Honky Tonk, or even Nick "Eugene" Dinsmore, they're much more likely to come to the show. When that happens, the true stars of IPW can show them what they've been missing. Honestly, I'd rather see guys like Quack, Hero, Abercrombie, Matt Cross, and Nigel McGuinness, but unfortunately Indy isn't a very smart town when it comes to wrestling, and those guys just don't draw new fans because people don't know who they are. It's really a shame when IWA brings in AJ Styles or Low-Ki, and IPW brings in The Kings of Wrestling or Mike Quackenbush, and the draw is only between 100-130 people.
