anfguy is so right of what he is talking about. Those people that come out after Raw and Smackdown tapings just wanna see WWE/F stars, and that may draw those certain people to IPW, if we bring them in. Anfguy is also right when we bring in Kings of Wrestling or Mike Quackenbush and not that many people come. How many people were there when the Kings of Wrestling(less than 200). so yea, everybody that's a wrestling fan wants to see names that have been highlighting the WWE/TNA. This is the only way to draw more people if we all want 2 shows a month.

I dont think this is the only way to draw more names for IPW..... I think a former star would be nice to bring in so you have a BIG name on the card and draw new fans in who have no clue there are even any kind of Independent wrestling. I know the first time I got a flyer after a Raw show I was hesitant, but I am sure glad that I gave it a chance and now to be totally honest.... I would rather go to an Independent show or watch an Indy DVD than watch that crap WWE and TNA have anymore.

After all these replies on this thread, i don't really think that IPW needs WWE or TNA stars on the card. Last night at EWF, they said that 2 Cold Scorpio couldn't be there this Saturday b/c of travel or personal issues. So, we do need guest stars, just search through out the United States only.

What are you talking about "just search through out the United States only"?

I mean is if we want to book some guests into IPW, we should just search through out the United States so there won't be any isssues. Like I said before, 2 Cold Scorpio can't be at EWF this Saturday b/c of travel or personal issues. So to keep the fans happy, we should just look for some stars from leagues near IPW.

Most "stars" that work the independents normally do so for more than one promotion. Traveling problems and personal issues can occur no matter where the person is located. You can't just confine youself to only booking guys in your area. If IPW were to do what you're suggesting, then you wouldn't see guys like The Irish Airborne, Mike Quackenbush, Josh Abercrombie, or The Kings of Wrestling in IPW again. What makes groups like IPW and IWA-MS so great is that they bring in guys from all over the country, and sometimes even from other countries.

So are you saying that IPW does NEED WWE/TNA guys, or they don't? You're stating two contridicting opinions in one paragraph. And even if a promotion books someone from the States, there's still a chance of the "star" backing out due to travel, personal, etc. issues. I still stand by IPW holds their own ground with Indy talent. They don't need to bring in expensive "names". IPW is drawing more and more every month, so they're doing something right.

Azalea, the wrestlers will have travel issues unless they live real close to the Salvation Army or Indianapolis. No, we don't need any WWE/TNA stars, even though seeing Amazing Kong vs. Osyris would be a great match to see. idk if ROH or Chikara is considered being similar to WWE or TNA, but even if they are(ROH and Chikara), we should bring them in more often. We have 3 of them for January 5th(what a birthday gift!), so that's a good start.

Any wrestler will have travel issues, or personal issues, it's something that just happens, regardless of how far or close they live to Indianapolis.
Amazing Kong is not a TNA star. She's been wrestling in Japan for a while, and here on the US indy scene, she's just becoming more well known to audiences because of her appearances on Impact. So I wouldn't consider her outside the realm of potential talent for IPW to check out.
ROH and Chikara are not like WWE or TNA. Have you watched either Chikara or Ring of Honor?

I think it should be the other way around WWE/TNA should be more like ROH and Chikara. I don't think either promotions should be like the other. WWE/TNA would alienate most of their fanbase if they went the ROH/Chikara style. Not everyone enjoys 7 finishers in one match, and constant head dropping. Although the comedy in Chikara is priceless ;D

Im pretty sure there is only 7 finishes per match because they have tons of trios and 8 man tag team matches, its just Lucha style wrestling, and one of the only american promotions that has it down that well.
and WWE/TNA is basically ROH now, I mean look at TNA's roster, 90% of them are from ROH. Look at the ECW Champion, The United States champion, the longest reigning tag champs in forever (Londrick), and others im sure im leaving out.
Honestly, I think certain big name stars could be okay. Like 2 Cold Scorpio, who is not fromGermany or out of the country, hes like from Philly or somewhere on the east coast.
But for the most part, I dont like "names" coming in to like IPW or indy fed. Because they dont give all their effort for the payday they are getting. They dont bust their ass like the regulars, they give half effort. EXAMPLE: Sandman vs. Drake Younger. Sandman's entrance, Was his match.

and look how much these STARS help EWF, they draw THE SAME CROWD every week, so obviously those names arent really helping them. they still draw like 30 people at most.

I'm not referring to multi-man matches. A lot of singles matches, especially in ROH use what people use as finishers as part of a regular moveset, and then kick out at one. Watch the first ROH PPV from a few months back, that PPV had me hating ROH for a while.
