It's that time again IPW fans: WrestleMania Prediction time ! Of course, I'll start it off, posting my thoughts & predictions underneath. Feel free to share yours as well. Let's get started!
Money in the Bank: Well, this is only the 4th MitB contest in WrestleMania history, but I think this year's is the most anticipated & will be the most interesting. Just look to see who's in the match this year.
CM Punk was the winner of the match last year, & later cashed it in June to become the World Heavyweight Champion. Does he have the upper hand? Yes. Do I think he'll win the whole thing again? No. Look at the history: every winner of this match has not won the next year's bout. So, I'll just take him out of the mix.
MVP: Again, he was involved in last year's contest, but due to interference from Matt Hardy, he didn't win the match. I would love to see him as champion before the Autmn season rolls around, but right now, he doesn't deserve it.
Mark Henry & Kane: This year will be the first time that two superheavyweights will be involved. But why put even include them? WWE put Kane in the match at WrestleMania 21, & look what happened: he didn't win the match, & plus, all the others even tried to take out before he got to the ring. As for Henry, I don't even see him winning, so yeah.
Finlay & Shelton Benjamin: WWE's fighting Irishman also has the upperhand, because he was involved at Manias 22 & 23. But wait here: Benjamin has been at 21, 22 AND 24's matches. But in each one, the two have been taken out one wait or another. Shelton should be champion ASAP, but who knows when that'll happen.
Kofi Kingston: I don't even know why he's involved. If it were me, Chris Jericho would've been in this match & he would've won the whole thing. Kingston's is definetly going to end up where Edge was at 23.
And last but not least: Christian. This guy right here has been whoopin' some ass sense he came back & that was about No Way Out time. He may has been involved in only one MitB match, but I do see him winning, for push reasons. And to go a bit furthur, I say he'll cash it in & beat Edge around Bash-SummerSlam time.
Prediction: Christian
25 Diva Battle Royale: I don't particualry care about this match, but at least there's women involved! It does get kind of hard to choose which one you want to win, better yet which one you'll think who's going to win the whole thing. I don't really see any of the past Divas to win, so let's skip that. When it comes to current, due to past references, Mickie James will win this bout to be crowned the first ever Miss WrestleMania.
Prediction: Mickie James
The Miz & John Morrison vs. Primo & Colon[Unified Tag Team Championship Lumberjack Match]: To my surprise, there's actually a tag team match at Mania, amazing isn't it? Anyways, I haven't really enjoyed the build for this match, even if it's been since Valentine's Day. I actually see both teams reigning supreme over the other, but come on? We have a team who call themselves the Greatest Tag Team in the 21st Century! Miz & Morrison are going to win this bout, easily & effectively!
Prediction: Miz & Morrison
Chris Jericho vs. WWE Legends[Handicap Elimination Match]: I'm actually pretty excited for this match: it's gotten alot of build, along with some tension & excitement as well. Of course, we first started off this angle with Jericho deciding to talk smack about Mickey Rourke & his part in 'The Wrestler'. That was a pretty exciting, but Jericho vs. Rourke unfortnatley wasn't announced.
Then Jericho decides to take out all of his anger on all of the legends who are in this match, even Flair just two weeks ago. I may like Jericho as a wrestler, but his ego has gotten the best out of him lately.
And now, Jericho invites Rourke to attend Mania in front row?? Why do that? It's going to hurt his chances of winning this bout, because the Legends are going to invite Rourke to get involved somehow, & take out Jericho once and for all.
Prediction: WWE Legends
JBL vs. Rey Mysterio[Intercontinental Championship]: Again, not enough build for this match. 3 weeks maybe? But still, this Rey's WrestleMania return in 3 years, so I'm pretty excited for that. But looking at RAW last Monday, Rey was able to pin JBL in a non-title bout. Can he do it again? Yes, I think he can do it again.
Prediction: Rey Mysterio[new champion]
Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy[Extreme Rules]: I'm loving this angle right here! We first started off with Matt turning on Jeff at the Royal Rumble, & it's gone up ever since. Remember when Edge & Matt said that the 'black cloud' has followed Jeff from last year? I think it has done that.
Of course, Jeff has been emotional ever since the Rumble, & I think that will help him out a bit. Matt has just been talking smack, I think, & although I like Matt, I think it'll get the best of him on Sunday. Watch for Jeff to pull something like he did at Mania 23, or pull out a ladder or two.
Prediction: Jeff Hardy
Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker: I know the WWE Universe has seen Undertaker to be extremely emotional, & I've been too. Shawn Michaels has been so thingyy as of late, with the funeral & the tribute. And yet, Michaels has been able to superkick Taker twice in one month. That has gotten me really worried.
OK, every Hall of Famer has to get inducted for a few reasons, right? For Ric Flair, it has been his 16 World Championships & his dirty tactics. For Undertaker, it's his WrestleMania streak. Personally, if he loses on Sunday, I don't see a main reason for him to get inducted. HBK has gotten the best out of him lately, & has merely escaped the clutches of Taker several times.
But, Edge did the same thing last year too: he escaped Taker's clutches several times & did all of the attacking the build. HBK has done the same thing, he's gotten too thingyy as of late, & with that, I hope to see Taker go 17-0 at WrestleMania !!
Prediction: Undertaker[17-0]
Edge vs. Big Show vs. John Cena[Triple Threat World Heavyweight Championship]: Such a Jerry Springer storyline. A love triangle, with Cena just merely watching it unfold. I believe he's only gotten beaten down just one time on RAW on Monday.
Edge & Show, however, have tried to pummel each other, just trying to earn the heart of Vickie Guerro. It's not helping both at all. They're not even focusing on Edge's title, just this whole love thing.
Cena has the upperhand in this one, since he doesn't love Vickie, & I think to see him FU & pin Edge to become the new World Heavyweight Champion.
Prediction: John Cena[new champion]
Randy Orton vs. Triple H[WWE Championship]: This has been the most emotional angle I've ever seen, & I've been a wrestling fan for over 2 years now. Of course, it all started with Orton winning the Rumble & he knocks out the McMahons, one by one. This, I think, gives him the advantage.
He's basically emotionally scarred Triple H, especially after RKO'ing Stephanie. I know Paul wants to to get his hands on Randy, but he's only been able to just once I believe. This doesn't give Triple H the advantage in this one.
Now, of course, Vince & Shane did come back last Monday. I do think they'll somehow interfere or change the stipulations somehow on Paul's behalf. Having the chairman as your stepfather won't really help out Triple H. History says that all of the Royal Rumble winners, except one, has gone on & win the their championship match at WrestleMania. With that, history will repeat itself, sad to say, & Randy will become the new WWE Champion on Sunday, April 5th.
Prediction: Randy Orton[new champion]
Thanks to those that have read! I know it's long, but I had several thoughts coming into this day. Obviously, I think WrestleMania 25 will bring all new champions to the roster, & history will definetly be made. Please feel free to share your predictions as well; I look forward to reading your replies!
