Here it is, the short & sweet of what is sure to be BEYOND neat, the Super Junior Heavyweight Tournament. At this Insanity Pro Wrestling show, the best Junior Heavyweight champion will be determined in the most prestigious of all tournaments on the independent wrestling circuit today! I have never participated in one (I guess I don't "weigh in" at that level, haha), but I know for a fact, this is THE real deal. Many of independent wrestling's finest Junior Heavyweight competitors have participated and in some cases, won this illustrious tournament.
First Round Match Ups
Bracket A
Jeremy Hadley vs Scotty Vortekz - I make it no secret, I LIKE "Warfare" Jeremy Hadley, however...I make it no secret...Scotty Vortekz hits and hits REALLY hard. Don't wake the sleeping dragon, I think it best that Hadley not utter a peep during his match with Scotty. It may not...bode well for Warfare. Good luck, Jeremy, and congrats on your move, however brief, to the big show.
Aaron Xtreme vs Ricochet - Aaahh! Aaron is the quintessential underdog. Takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'. Let's not look past Ricochet though. He is the (current) champion. This could be a "Must See" Match as there's bound to be CRAZY maneuvers abound.
Dave Crist vs Tarek the Legend - I have seen these two lock up in tag team matches elsewhere, but it will be interesting to see them both go one-on-one this time around. Which ego will win, we will find out for sure. However, look out Tarek, 'cause blood is thicker than water and the Irish Coffee (Good til the last drop) is the most devastating tag team maneuver in the independent scene today! AND, Dave is a previous SJHT winner!...
Bracket B
Chrisjen Hayme vs Billy Roc - We saw some back and forth battle between these two competitors at Shocktoberfest 2010 in a four way battle. Now, we get to see them settle their differences, man-to-man, to determine who REALLY is the best Junior Heavyweight of the two. My money is on Roc; I don't think Hayme is refocused since his loss to Jesse in, what I consider to be, feud of the year.
Jake Crist vs AR Fox - AR Fox is tall, muscled and athletic as hell. I just saw the kid wrestle in Philly (against Adam Cole) and he is pretty impressive!...but, much like my warning to Tarek...blood IS thicker than water, Irish Coffee IS good til the last drop AND Jake Crist is NO slouch! This will be the match to see!
Dustin Rayz vs Kyle O'Reilly - Dustin, Dustin, Dustin...Win this tournament! I'm tired of seeing the "L" next to your name after a show. The "L" following your name used to be the start of mine...Dustin Rayz, Lou Roberts...now, it's Dustin Rayz, Loss...Kyle O'Reilly will have a first impression to make, so Dustin is already wrestling against a hungry lion. Good luck, Dustin! It seems like the only thing you rely on these days...
My guess...and just an opinion...Ricochet will retain his title and gain another accolade to become the 2010 Super Junior Heavyweight Tournament Winner. Nobody likes him, but nobody can deny his skills.
In Non Tournament Action:
*** # 1 Contenders Match for the IPW World Championship ***
Winner Faces IPW World Champion Jon Moxley on Dec 4, 2010
Jimmy Jacobs vs Jesse Emerson - Yep, the "Sick & Twisted" Jimmy Jacobs is taking on the "Shark" Jesse Emerson. What a mispairing, but what a disaster it'll make! It's like slowing down to see that terrible car accident...ya just can't help but look! Jesse could grasp the upper cusp of IPW ranks if he could only win this match. But, Jimmy is not just focused...he's calculated, deliberate and scheming. Jacobs has something in store...he's looking at the IPW World Heavyweight Championship and he's looking at the man holding it as his prey...Jon Moxley! Moxley just has too many accolades in wrestling right now and Jacobs has been hot on Moxley's trail to pick off every championship Moxley has. All Jon Moxley can pray for is that Jesse Emerson be victorious...of course, is there a lesser of two evils?! Wouldn't facing Emerson be just as bad?! If not, worse?! Remember what happened to Chrisjen Hayme during the Last Man Standing Match at IPW's "Reign of the Insane?!" The "Shark" Jesse Emerson chewed him up through everything and the kitchen sink.
Time will tell if Jon Moxley can stay on top of the world for much longer.
See ya November 6th at Insanity Pro Wrestling's Super Junior Heavyweight Tournament. Bring a friend, bring a neighbor...especially...bring yourself!!!
