Everyday I deal with the pain of my dads passing. I needed to do something to help me deal with the pain. So I got this crazy idea when talking with another wrestler, then told my wife about it, then told my mom. So with encouragement from those people, that is how this show has come about. We are 6 weeks away from the show, so I thought I would break down the matches for you 1 match a week. So lets start with the main event.
"The King of Indiana" Billy Roc V.S. "Dragon Gate USA Star" Ricochet
I have known Ricochet since 2006 when we wrestled for IWA-MS on a regular basis. When I 1st saw him I just saw a skinny kid who did cool flips. But what I didn't see at 1st, was a kid who really wanted to get better. BTW....I say kid...because when I met him.....he was only 17 years old. Now 22 years old, Ricochet is one of the most talked about high flyers in the world. SERIOUSLY! Evan Bourne, Jack Evans, Amazing Red, A.J. Styles.....You can't have a list of great high flyers and not mention Ricochet.
So between 2006 and 2008 Ricochet and myself had met each other, many of times in the square circle. But never one on one. We wrestled in 3-ways, 4-ways, 6-ways, tag matches, and even a 9-way ladder match. But never one on one. When we used to ride together to philadelphia for shows we would joke around who was the "king of the 3-way dance" (because we wrestled in SO MANY of those matches). So we decided we needed a singles match to prove it, but it never happened. Since..... I have stepped away from wrestling to be a dad, concentrate on my real job, and open up my own wrestling school. While Ricochet is wrestling for such great companys as Evolve, Dragon Gate USA, Chikara, and most recently PWG in California. *Side note* highly recommend reading the recent article Gabe Sapolsky wrote for the Heyman Hustle where he mentions Ricochets last performance in Evolve. Good stuff about a guy i knew 4 years ago was going to do big things in wrestling.
Now don't think because I have been away from the ring for a while that this is going to stop me from putting on a great performance. I have a lot of motivation going for me. So on November 7th, Ricochet and I...finally get that 1 on 1 match and I plan on pulling out a performance of a life time. To the Lafayette fans, I wanted to give you something you have never seen before in our little area. I want you to get a chance to look at a future star in wrestling. Before you start paying $30 dollars to see him at Conseco or before you see him on a $49.99 dollar PPV. Come to the Lafayette Theature on November 7th and watch him for only $5 dollars. And remember the great cause you will be supporting. The community Cancer Network.
